Therein lies the conundrum, U.S. policies, bureaucracies and corporate appetites to “off shore” have created this monster an actual critical materials desert in the U.S. that creates a considerable “National Security” issue until the U.S. takes care of this failure.

Just ask the likes of entity NERC, which has gone on record with their concerns of the amount of circuit boards, transformers, cabling from “other countries” abrogating the U.S. competence of taking care of critical public infrastructure like our grid nationally, without foreign component supply chain flow dependence with the threat of geopolitical interruption on any given day.
