The United States installed more solar in 2023 than ever before<\/a> \u2014 32.4 GW total and 51% more than the previous year. That significant expansion of the installation market is acknowledged this year in the 2024 Top Solar Contractors List<\/a> released today by Solar Power World<\/em>. The Top 5 solar contractors each installed more than 2 GW in 2023, while some exceeded 3 GW.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cSolar projects in every market \u2014 residential to utility-scale \u2014 are getting bigger and oftentimes more complicated in scope, financing and permitting. That\u2019s why it\u2019s all the more impressive when so many top installation companies have banner years,\u201d said Kelly Pickerel, editor in chief of Solar Power World<\/em>. \u201cThe Top Solar Contractors List is a great gauge for how strong individual companies are in their local markets.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many of the companies on the 2024 Top Solar Contractors List overcame major hurdles last year \u2014 big net-metering changes in California, high interest rates nationwide, opposition to large-scale solar sites and much more. Due to this unfortunate turbulence, some companies exited the industry, which allowed new names to take top spots on the Top Solar Contractors List.<\/p>\n

The main list has a new No. 1, with Florida-headquartered contractor Moss taking the top spot for the first time. The EPC completed 3.5 GW in 2023 and installed 1.5 GW in its home state.<\/p>\n

The Top Solar Contractors List is the most recognized annual listing of solar contractors in the United States. Companies on the Top Solar Contractors List are grouped and listed by specific service (developer, electrical subcontractor, EPC, installation subcontractor, installer, sales partner), market (commercial, community solar, residential, utility) and states by 2023 installed capacity (in kWDC<\/sub>).<\/p>\n
